Corporate Partnerships Officer
Unit: Resource Generation and Partnerships (RGP)
Reports to: Corporate Partnerships Manager
Co-Reports to: NPIN (No Plastics In Nature) Manager
Major Functions
- Contribute towards achieving the goals and target outputs of the Corporate Partnerships team by forging partnerships with organizations in the private sector, with the goal of helping corporations understand and incorporate environmental sustainability in their business approach, and raising funds for WWF-Philippines’ programs.
- Understand the areas where WWF and corporations can work together to form strategic and/or project-based partnerships using drivers of corporate performance and creating synergies for the mutual benefit of both organizations.
- Be well-informed on developments in WWF global corporate engagement guidelines as well as WWF global programs and corporate partnerships, with an eye toward local opportunities.
- Understand the details surrounding the different WWF’s programs in order to effectively market the programs to target corporations.
- Be well-informed on developments in all business sectors and identify risks and opportunities for WWF partnership objectives.
- Identify prospective corporate partners to be engaged.
- Conduct the necessary research and due diligence on target corporations to be approached for potential partnerships.
- Work with Conservation Programs and the Resource Generation and Partnerships unit in identifying project partnership opportunities to be proposed to prospective partners.
- Create and deliver pitch presentations to prospective partners, conduct negotiations together with the WWF working team towards securing new corporate partners.
- Prepare Memorandum of Agreements, billing statements, and other related coordination tasks.
- Manage the existing roster of corporate partners assigned – coordinate with the Program Managers in ensuring the timely and excellent delivery of project outputs, communicate with existing partners to ensure they are updated with status and progress of the projects, ensure that accurate and complete reports are submitted to donors on time, look out for opportunities to further grow the existing donor funds and provide value-added services to partners.
- Participate in major fundraising events/campaigns and at times lead and coordinate those activities.
- Liaise with the Media and Communications Manager in looking for opportunities to highlight and communicate initiatives surrounding the different corporate partnerships as well as co-branding and other marketing and media-based tie-ups.
- Liaise with the Database Management Officer in maintaining the Corporate Relations database for existing and target partners.
- Manage and adhere to WWF brand position, mission, and standards at all contact points with corporations.
- FOR NPIN (No Plastics In Nature) Inititiative: Engage stakeholder groups especially businesses to support the adoption of an EPR scheme in the country. This role includes building scenarios and implementing capacity-building activities to increase alignment and support for the EPR scheme with stakeholder groups including businesses, government, civil society organizations, informal waste sector, and waste management operators in consultation and coordination with the NPIN Manager ensure timely and effective implementation of work plans and targets.
- Ensure effective project documentation and monitoring including timely reporting as aligned with the work plan; do liaison works with stakeholder groups and relevant partners involved in project implementation;
- Build effective working relationships and facilitates the involvement and participation of the target stakeholders;
- Attend regular staff meetings and participates in regular planning and assessment meetings with staff vis-à-vis set plans.

Key Outputs and Deliverables
- Deliver specified target restricted and unrestricted funds to meet the Corporate Partnerships’ fundraising target.
- Secure corporate partners for cash and in-kind support for WWF and related programs.
- Manage existing corporate partners by keeping abreast with progress of projects and updating partners on the projects they are funding.
- Monthly work plan and accomplishment report.
- Documentation of meetings and project activities.
- Liquidation reports of all cash advances.
- Perform other duties that may be assigned by supervisor from time to time.
Qualifications
- KNOWLEDGE: Graduate degree preferably in Marketing, Business, Social Science, or other related courses with stakeholder engagement and management
- An understanding of general business practices and the local business environment.
- Ability to understand internal business processes of all sectors and identify collaboration opportunities.
- EXPERIENCE: At least 2 years’ experience in partnership acquisition and retention, and project coordination. Background in solid waste management is an advantage.
- SKILLS and ABILITIES: Excellent organizational skills with a keen eye for detail.
- Must be excellent in both oral and written communication in English and Tagalog.
- Must have people skills and be able to work as a team.
- Must be willing to learn about WWF and the various conservation projects.
- Must be open minded, willing to learn new methods and techniques, & must demonstrate ability to think, make sound judgment, and deliver workable solutions.
- The job entails staying within the community of the project site sometimes, thus one should feel comfortable in the demands and nature of the job.
- Must be computer literate and know how to use MS Office.
