WWF-Philippines works with local restaurants, gamers, and conservation advocates for Philippine Environment Month
July 1, 2022
In celebration of the Philippine Environment Month, WWF-Philippines has partnered with local restaurants, professionals, and gamers for the latest leg of Fundraise for WWF, a long-running initiative dedicated to raising support for important conservation programs.
Joining these efforts is Dine for the Planet, a fundraising group led by the dining industry key players that are committed to advocating for sustainable food production and to taking part in projects for nature.

“We have always been environmentally conscious,” said Sarah La’Brooy, owner of Lemoni Cafe and Dinibeach Bar & Restaurant. “We strive to run our businesses sustainably, environmentally friendly, and raise environmental awareness within our companies to all of our staff. We try to buy and use as much local produce as we can by supporting local farmers and fishermen that practice good environmental standards.”
La’Brooy adds that, through this group, she hopes enterprises can help open the eyes of the community to the opportunities to contribute to saving the planet.
“As the whole world has been locked up in the pandemic, we believe that it’s even more essential that we [talk about] the importance of balance in our ecosystems because we need to protect our natural environment. It's paramount to our existence,” she said. “Human, animal, and environmental health are all linked and interconnected with one another. We all must take steps in the right direction to change.”
RUMBLE ROYALE, one of the largest talent and marketing agencies in the online space, also pledged to be a WWF fundraising partner. Their creative collective of online creators is set to hold livestreams where audiences can participate in virtual donation drives for the conservation efforts of WWF-Philippines.
“We forget how much we depend on nature,” gamer and creator Yuka Kuroyanagi noted. “We must [take action] now and put into practice whatever we can to save our planet and not take everything for granted so that there can still be real hope for the future.”
Gaming video creator Jay Perillo added that no matter where you are or what you do, you can make an impact. He said, “Even the tiniest move you make to help make the world a better place counts. Collect all those small efforts and it will surely become a big thing.”
Other advocates who supported the organization’s conservation efforts include Dr. Curtis Kornegay and Martin Cuadrante.
