Royal Caribbean Manila Inks Partnership with WWF-Philippines
April 2017
After being instrumental in the partnership of World Wildlife Fund (WWF-US) and the Royal Caribbean Cruises Ltd. (RCL) corporate office in Miami, Florida on the ongoing Donsol conservation program, RCL Manila has recently opened its doors for more collaborations with World Wide Fund for Nature (WWF) Philippines.
In a Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) signing event held last April 20 2017 at the RCL Regional Operating Headquarters in Pasay City, the two organizations concretized a five-year endeavor, which is geared towards facilitating the RCL Manila’s Employee Volunteer Program in line with WWF-Philippines’s mission of building a future where Filipinos live in harmony with nature.
This partnership was warmly received by the RCL Manila employees who showed their delight as they gave out overwhelming cheers throughout the program. These cheers translated to close to 124,000 merchandise sales and 14 Individual Donor Programme sign-ups at the booths that WWF-Philippines set up for the event.
RCL Manila Human Resources Director Vivian Cruz was pleased about formalizing the MOA and the support demonstrated by her fellow employees. “RCL has long been passionate about ocean conservation,” she declared. “Our company’s Save the Waves initiative has promoted above-and-beyond environmental compliance for more than two decades. RCL Manila’s partnership with WWF-Philippines reaffirms our commitment to protecting our marine resources and makes ocean conservation more meaningful for our employees.”
The programs to be implemented in the first year include a coastal rehabilitation project, school-based Environmental Education sessions, and whale shark conservation.
The very welcoming RCL Manila employees are all smiles after meeting WWF’s beloved Chi-Chi.
WWF-Philippines President and CEO Joel Palma seals the partnership with RCL Manila as WWF-Philippines Officer-In-Charge for Marketing and Resource Generation Ismael Cabigao, WWF-Philippines Vice President for Conservation Programmes Chrisma Salao, and RCL Manila HR Director Vivian Cruz look on.
