Meet WWF's Pioneer National Youth Ambassadors

March 2017

GMA Network actors Janine Gutierrez and André Paras signed on as WWF-Philippines' first ever National Youth Ambassadors last 14 March 2017. To amplify WWF's thrust to engage and galvanize the youth to be the climate leaders of tomorrow, the National Youth Ambassadors are tasked to work closely with WWF-Philippines' National Youth Council aged 16-25. Their first task: to appear and co-host this year's Earth Hour celebration at SM by the Bay, Mall of Asia Complex on 25 March 2017. Janine and André will be announced mid-program and will invite attendees to go through the Earth Hour Camp as well as inviting everyone to go Beyond the Hour.

Janine, who is a lover of the seas and the beach, has a special advocacy for waste management and proper garbage disposal. Growing up, she has always looked up to WWF and is ecstatic to be part of the family. André, who has been celebrating Earth Hour for a decade, believes in the power of the global movement and going Beyond the Hour. "The switch-off is a symbolic commitment to make small changes in our lives to change climate change." says Paras.

The two National Youth Ambassadors have joined WWF-Philippines' roster of ambassadors: Marc Nelson, Rovilson Fernandez, Iza Calzado, Luis Manzano, Piolo Pascual, and Mikee Cojuangco-Jaworski.
