For 18 years, Bag of Beans has been a staple in every Tagaytay City bucket list. Considered as a must-see and must-experience place in the famed tourist destination, the main branch resembles a secret garden getaway, thanks to its nature-inspired ambiance and rustic interior design. A family-owned venture, Bag of Beans has stayed true to its promise of delivering a homey and relaxing atmosphere - a home-away-from-home where Filipinos can savor food made from the freshest ingredients, pastries that are freshly-baked everyday, and a delicious cuisine made even more delightful by friendly service - true marks of a homegrown Pinoy restaurant.

Mario’s has been a beloved staple in the Tomas Morato dining scene but did you know that the first Mario’s was actually established in 1971, amidst the quaint surroundings of Session Road, Baguio? What started out as just a dream became a reality, and with its delicious food and amiable host - Mr. Mario Benitez himself. The restaurant flourished and because of their clientele’s insistence, the Tomas Morato branch was established in 1974. Mario’s has been known for their signature dishes, Spanish-Filipino recipes lovingly developed by Ms. Nenuca Benitez. Another Mario’s must-eat is their crown jewel - Mario’s Caesar Salad - which is prepared tableside so guests get to appreciate the effort that goes in every bite. Providing not just food, but an experience, and touching people’s lives - these are things that Mario’s wants to continue delivering for future generation of Filipinos through their home-cooked, heirloom cuisine.

Located in The Junction Tagaytay, Bells & Whistles ensures that they serve quality food to their diners by starting every dish with only the freshest ingredients. After all, with the goal of making dishes that inspire a sense of comfort and a taste of home, only the very best ingredients will do. A place where family and friends can indulge in good food and unwind with live music entertainment, Bells and Whistles hopes to be a restaurant where experience becomes more than just the cuisine.

WWF-Philippines is proud to have these three restaurants as part of our third set of partners for The Sustainable Diner project, a pioneer project tackling sustainable consumption and production in the country. Indeed, when we all work together, it is possible for us to create change in the local food service industry.

The Sustainable Diner project, under World Wide Fund for Nature (WWF) Philippines’ Sustainable Consumption and Production, is part of the International Climate Initiative (IKI). The Federal Ministry for the Environment, Nature Conservation, Building and Nuclear Safety (BMUB) supports this initiative on the basis of a decision adopted by the German Bundestag.
